Reflecting on Fire Prevention Week & Real-World Fire Safety Lessons

As we wrap up another successful National Fire Prevention Week, we’re thrilled to have seen so many incredible fire safety initiatives across the country. From community fire drills to educational events, it's been inspiring to see how dedicated everyone is to safety. We also want to give a big thank you to those who participated locally at our shop—we loved seeing families and business owners stop by to learn more about fire protection and grab some fun memorabilia. Remember, our focus on fire safety doesn’t end with the week; it's a year-round priority for us!

Real-Life Fire Safety Lessons from Clearwater

Recent local events also remind us of the importance of staying prepared. Just days ago, a major fire in Clearwater, sparked by hurricane debris, left fire crews battling the blaze for hours. Thankfully, no one was injured, but it serves as a stark reminder of how hazardous post-hurricane conditions can be. Fires can be triggered by downed power lines, faulty generators, or even piles of debris—making it more important than ever to ensure your home or business is protected.

You can read more about that incident here. Fires like these remind us of the importance of staying prepared and vigilant, especially in the aftermath of storms.

Ongoing October Fire Safety Promotions

As part of our ongoing commitment to fire safety, we're extending our October specials:

  • Up to 25% off all smoke detectors – Don't wait until it's too late. Smoke detectors are your first line of defense, and now is the perfect time to replace or install new ones.
  • Fire extinguisher specials – We're continuing the sale on reconditioned 5lb and 10lb fire extinguishers, now just $55 and $75 respectively, including certification tags.

Make sure your home or business is fully equipped to handle emergencies, especially during hurricane season when fire risks are higher. Must mention this promotion when booking your service.

As we move forward, we encourage everyone to stay proactive about fire safety, especially with the heightened risks following severe weather. Whether it’s checking your smoke alarms, updating fire extinguishers, or simply staying informed, every step helps protect what matters most. Even though we’ve had a few cooler nights this past weekend, don’t let your guard down—hurricane season is far from over. Last October, Florida was hit with not one, but two hurricanes, proving that storms can strike late in the year. Power outages, flooding, and fire risks don’t follow a schedule, which is why emergency lighting and fire preparedness should always be top of mind.

With hurricane season here, fire safety often gets overlooked — but it’s more important than ever. Storm damage, power surges, and flooding can all create unexpected fire hazards. Just in the last few weeks, our community has seen: A 3-alarm scrapyard blaze in Tampa that took firefighters all night to contain. A semi-truck fire on I-4 after a driver suffered a medical emergency. A mobile home fire in Tampa that tragically left one person dead. Multiple business fires in St. Pete Beach and Clearwater , leaving owners struggling to recover. These events are sobering reminders that fires can happen anytime, anywhere. The best defense is being prepared.
