- INSTALL Smoke Alarms in Every Bedroom, Outside Sleeping Areas, and on Every Level
This ensures that you and your loved ones are alerted to fire no matter where it may occur in the home. - TEST Your Smoke Alarms Monthly
Press the test button to make sure they’re working. If the alarm doesn’t sound, replace the batteries immediately. - REPLACE Smoke Alarms Every 10 Years. Even if they seem to work, older alarms might not be as reliable. If you can’t remember the last time you changed them, it’s probably time to swap them out!
